The H28’s of the South of Perth Yacht Club.
These magnificent yachts have been sailing at the South of Perth Yacht Club for over 60 years and they were planned specifically with the home builder in mind during the 1940’s. Over 50 yachts have been built and sailed on, or around the Swan River and they have sailed far and wide on the coast of West Australia.
The boat has great design and handling characteristics with popular and strong fleet racing on the river.
The fleet at SoPYC competes on Saturdays, Wednesdays, and twilights with attendance at Wooden Boat regattas and the retro boat series as well. There is plenty to do on the river for the sailors and their families and crew. All of these boats demand love and attention and are being restored to top condition while some of the newer H28s haven’t needed any major work.
