Water Police have informed SoPYC of a significant vandalism incident at Fremantle Sailing Club and Cockburn Power Boat Club which occurred recently.
|
Two persons dressed in dark colour and wearing masks and gloves went on a rampage on the FSC hardstand slashing soft fabrics – cushion covers, clears, boat covers - on many vessels and slashing RIB tubes. While there is vision of the activity, the perpetrators cannot be identified. Police hope to get DNA from drink bottles as the vandals were drinking while damaging the vessels on the hardstand. They moved on to Cockburn after leaving FSC.

We have notified our on-premise security staff of the incident and noted the need to maintain their watchful lookout for suspicious person or activity on the WHS and boatyard.

Our SoPYC Club booth in the Convention Centre was a big hit this year with Virtual Reality sailing for everyone to try. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported us, we loved seeing you there!
